Q:How do I know if my mobile phone is supported?
A:
The Ijazza Guide will work with most phones that don't date back to the old days when phones still had antennas and black and white screens. If your phone is brand new, it might be the case that we have not added it to our database yet.

You can also just surf to http://www.ijazza.com on your mobile phone. This will take you to the download page. If your phone is recognized correctly and supported, you can immediately download the Ijazza Guide. Alternatively, you will have to choose your phone brand and type. If your phone is not in the list, we don't support it yet.

A:
This is a default message on your phone when you install an application. Do not worry; it is in not a security risk to your mobile phone or subscription.

Some mobile phones let you choose to install applications on either the phone memory or an external memory card. It doesn’t matter which one you choose.

Q:I’m sure that the GPRS settings is installed on my device but still, Ijazza tells me "Please check your GPRS setting", what’s wrong?
A:
If you are choosing the GPRS configuration from a popup list, most properly you are not choosing the right GPRS configuration; you have to use either Internet or WAP. Otherwise, some mobile phones need to specify the GPRS configuration that should be used for each application separately or set GPRS configuration for all java application.

  • Sony Ericsson :
    1. Go to Connectivity> Internet settings > Settings for java
    2. Choose Internet profile
  • Motorola:
    1. Make sure that Internet settings are set to default
  • Samsung:
    1. Go to Main Menu > Applications > Ijazza
    2. Click on Option choose Network communication
    3. Point to Internet APN or set the APN to:
    a. Zain (internet/ internetpre)
    b. Orange (net.orange.jo)
    c. Umniah (net)
  • Nokia:
Some Nokia devices doesn’t show a popup list of GPRS configuration , in this case you have to check the following:

    1. Check if Settings> Configurations> Preferred access pt. is set to (internet settings) , else do your own Access point :
    a. Go to Settings> Configurations> Personal config. sett
    b. Then click Options> Add new choose Access Point
    c. Click on Access point settings> Bearer settings
    d. Set Pocket data acc. pt. to
    i. Zain (internet/internetpre) ii. Orange (net.orange.jo)
    iii. Umniah (net)
Q:I get an "Allowed to use network" question every few seconds.
A:
The Ijazza Guide needs to check the internet regularly. Mobile phones ask for permission when an application enters the internet. You can disable this warning so that it only asks permission when you start it up. It is usually in the JAVA- Games-, or Application settings menu. It is best to check your phone manual on how to do this. On Nokia phones go into the application settings, sometimes called "Application Manager" and set network access to "ask first time only".
